Cobalt(II) hydroxide or cobalt hydroxide is the inorganic compound with the formula Co(OH)2, consisting of divalent Cobalt cations Co2+ and hydroxide anions OH−. It is a light pink powder that is soluble in acid and ammonium salt solution and insoluble in water and alkali. It reacts with organic acids to form cobalt soap.
