Chromium catalyst used in the polymerization process consists of Chromium (IV) trioxide, chemically fixed on silica gel.
It can be used in gas phase or slurry processes and are capable of producing homopolymers of ethylene as well as copolymers of ethylene and alpha-olefins.
Application
- For the production of high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
- Suitable for such applications as blow moulding, pipe extrusion and film. (because resins produced with these chromium catalysts exhibit a medium to broad molecular weight distribution)
